The Universe Is Your Friend
An uplifting weekly podcast where we stop overthinking and start creating the life we actually want with the Universe by our side!
Hi! I’m Kristen Greenwood, your manifestation mentor, self-trust hype girl, and spiritual bestie with a side of tough love. Welcome to The Universe Is Your Friend Podcast. I’m so glad you’re here.
This podcast was born from my own “what am I doing with my life?”
moments — working a job I hated, doubting every step I took, and feeling like everyone else had the manual to life except me. I always knew I was meant for more… I just had no idea how to start.
Now I’m figuring it out one step at a time and I’m bringing you with me.
Each week, you’ll get:
· Real talk about the Law of Attraction (minus the fluff)
· The rituals and mindset shifts that actually help
· Stories from my own journey - the wins, the wobbles, and the weird signs from the Universe
· Book recs, pep talks, and little nudges when you need them most
This podcast is your reminder that you can do big things - even if your life feels like chaos right now, even if you don’t have it all figured out, and even if you're still eating cereal for dinner some nights (bc same).
So grab your headphones and let’s manifest some magic, one Monday at a time.
And don’t forget... The Universe Is Your Best Freaking Friend <3

62. How To Stop Self-Sabotage While Manifesting Your Dream Life
Hi There, welcome to this week's episode of The Universe Is Your Friend!
Today I wanna talk to you guys about the dreaded self-sabotage...
In The Book Club we recently read "The Mountain Is You" by Brianna West and I just HAVE to share one of my favourite concepts from this book because we cannot have self-sabotaging on the way to manifesting our dream life, no no NO.
SO, today I am telling you all about core needs; what they are, how we fill them and why these lead to self-sabotaging behaviours. More importantly, once we understand core needs we are then able to break sabotaging behaviours and before you know it, you'll be sipping Margheritas pool-side in Palm Springs.
Core needs are deeply rooted, intrinsic requirements that we must meet to function properly as humans. These are both physical/biological and emotional/phycological - we are focusing on the latter. When these needs aren't being met, our subconscious brain will construct behaviours that will fill that core need and these behaviours are often unhealthy in the long term and/or directly conflicting with our goals and desires. AKA sabotaging behaviours.
This is why you may see someone who cannot stay faithful in a relationship, refuses to let go of toxic people or quits every job they get when they're seemingly providing them with all the financial security they want. These people, just like you and I, are not masochistic, lazy, stupid or lacking will-power and control. We have so much trouble deleting sabotaging behaviours because they are filling a core need of ours that will otherwise go unmet, which is detrimental to our survival.
So what does this mean for us going forward? If we can identify how our sabotaging behaviours are helping us and what core needs they're filling, then we can find an alternative behaviours that fill the need while also benefiting us long-term. Voila! Suddenly you are in control of your life and on the fast track to manifesting your dreams.
Thank me later xoxo
